Dave Grohl is sick of being considered nothing more than Nirvana’s fifth drummer, asserting that he (and bassist Krist Novoselic) were just as important to the band as Kurt Cobain: “We’ve been called hired guns and I just laugh … when one of those elements is removed from the combination. It just falls apart.” Earlier this week, Courtney Love resolved a Nirvana-related legal matter and agreed to pay an undisclosed sum to lawyers who represented her during her 2002 lawsuit against Grohl and Novoselic for control of Nirvana’s music. Not one to be called a sore loser, 50 Cent has decided not to cancel his U.K. tour (where his Curtis lost to Kanye’s Graduation) and has instead rescheduled the eight-date tour for November. The Who-approved documentary Amazing Journey: The Story of The Who, out on DVD November 6th, will feature previously unseen concert and archival footage including a 1964 concert when the band was known as the High Numbers. The doc will also feature interviews with U2’s The Edge, Eddie Vedder and Noel Gallagher. Former Guns N’ Roses’ drummer Steven Adler fell ill onstage during a concert in Mexico City Wednesday night. Adler was touring with his band Adler’s Appetite to commemorate the twentieth anniversary of GNR’s Appetite For Destruction. Reports of Adler suffering from hypertension could not be confirmed. Police impersonation charges against the Game have been dropped. The MC was accused of flashing a fake NYPD badge while attempting to flag down a taxi, telling the cab driver that he was an undercover agent and demanding to run red lights. The Game will still face trial September 25th for three felony charges stemming from an incident that occurred during a pick-up basketball game in L.A.
