British alt rock superstars Radiohead are performing a free concert at BBC Radio Theatre in central London on April 1st. The free concert coincides with the release of their new single "Nude" from their chart topping album In Rainbows. The concert is sponsored by BBC Radio 2 and fans can get tickets through BBC outlets and Radiohead's web site. 

The "Nude" single will include "4 Minute Warning" on the 7" and "Down is the New Up" on the CD version. Both tracks were previously only available on the In Rainbows box set. The band will be kicking off a worldwide tour May 5th in Florida. Earlier this year Radiohead gave a gift to their fans with a free New Year's Eve studio performance.

Flogging Molly headlines the Rock to Roll benefit show tonight at the Avalon in Hollywood. The event which is spearheaded by SideOneDummy Co-Founder Joe Sib will directly benefit the non-profit organization Wheels for Humanity.  The Wheels for Humanity mission is to provide increased self sufficiency and mobility to people with disabilities throughout the world, without regard to political affiliation, religious belief or ethnic identity. Also appearing on the bill are Bouncing Souls and Dead to Me. 

Born to a multi-cultural family Sacha Sacket blends classic Elton John inspired piano melodies with a hint of modern Depeche Mode electronic orchestration to create rich melodies that sound both classic and fresh at the same time. His songs vividly portray lives hanging in the balance between joy and heartache. Sacket is currently on tour promoting his latest album Lovers & Leaders You can catch him tonight at the Temple Bar in Santa Monica along with Great Glass Elevator and Stepsonday.

Pepper's dub rock style meshes to great effect the Aloha spirit of their native Hawaii with the ska-core/dub sound pioneered by Sublime. That style combined with relentless nationwide touring over the last decade has garnered Pepper a large and loyal following. Catch them tonight at the House of Blues - Anaheim and make sure to get there early to catch up and comers The Expendables and Passafire. 

Brett Dennen's music takes listeners on a trip back to the era of the great 70's singer/songwriters. His infectious songs instantly bring to mind Paul Simon but also easily fit in with contemporary tracks from the likes of Jack Johnson and David Gray.

Brett Dennen's music has recently been featured on a number of TV shows including Grey’s Anatomy, Scrubs, House, The Unit, and Men in Trees. He is currently on a nationwide tour in support of the John Butler Trio. You catch him tonight at The Grove in Anaheim, 4th and B in San Diego Friday, and the Orpheum - Los Angeles Saturday. 

Over the years All That Remains has steadily built upon the solid speed metal base that they displayed on their 2002 debut Behind Silence and Solitude. Their latest album The Fall of Ideals is a metal tour de force that fully displays their evolution.

The band is currently in the midst of a national tour supporting As I Lay Dying.  Both bands bring their metal virtuosity to The Wiltern tonight for a show that is sure to shake ever rafter in the historic venue. Also appearing on the bill are Haste the Day and Through the Eyes of the Dead.

Musicwerks Seattle presents a special evening of Goth and post punk influenced music tonight at El Corazon in Seattle. The lineup is headlined by the 80s Goth / New Wave pioneers Gene Loves Jezebel and includes Seattle favorites and epiTUNES Seattle Local Artist of the Day Romance, as well as Kirk Brandon and The Liars Club.

Romance is definitely a band to keep an eye. Michael Ribagain's bass lines are the driving force on songs such as "Paris is Burning" and "Guiltless." While Drew Jackson's baritone vocals, a cross between Peter Murphy and Killing Joke's Jaz Coleman, add a dramatic flair that truly makes Romance's songs standout in today's modern rock scene.

The band continues to build on their loyal following in the Northwest and appear set to make a major impact on the national scene. Their post punk sound could easily fit into an early 80s playlist alongside bands such as Killing Joke, Gang of Four, and even Bauhaus but also fits nicely alongside current New Wave revivalist bands such as The Killers, The Bravery, and The Faint. The Victory Records Tour touches down tonight at the House of Blues - Anaheim. The lineup includes Bayside, The Sleeping, A Day to Remember, Driver Side Impact, and today's Artist of the Day the Chicago based band June.

Get ready for a bloody good time tonight when Veritas takes the stage at the Halloween Block Party hosted by Flashrock Studios in North Hollywood tonight. Performing songs with titles like Monster, Lestat in the Stall, and 5 Black Skulls, you'd be hard pressed to find a band more suited to playing on Halloween. 

That said don't write Veritas off as a novelty band, they are far from it. Combing electronica with hints of Goth Metal and industrial rock the band is rapidly building a loyal fan base. Back in the mid-90s Abe Lincoln Story became the first band to earn a Monday night residency at Spaceland. After a six year hiatus the band has re-united as a 10 piece ensemble with full horn section.

Their unique sound is a mixture of soul, punk, and swing. In years past they have shared the stage with the likes of Beck, Weezer, and The Presidents of the USA never failing to get the fans hoping up and down for more. The chances of success appear promising given the fact that this is the most involved in a non-NIN recording that Trent Reznor has been in since Marilyn Manson's breakthrough album Antichrist Superstar. For those unfamiliar with Saul Williams music he is a former street poet who has opened up for Nine Inch Nails on several tours across North America and Europe. His music is loosely categorized as rap but is truly a cross genre blend of styles that is not easily pigeonholed into traditional music formats. Mixed by Alan Moulder the album is being promoted as a joint effort between Saul Williams and Trent Reznor. Williams describes the new album as "The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of NiggyTardust! is the lovechild of Trent and me."

Foxhunter is one of those bands that sounds like they would have been equally at ease playing during the 1970s as they do today. They mix classic rock elements with 90s alternative riffs creating a timeless rock sound that you'd be hard pressed not to enjoy. Industrial rockers Mankind is Obsolete return to Hollywood tonight for a show at The Gig - Hollywood. The band is currently in the midst of a nationwide tour in support of their latest album Trapped Inside, which has served to announce to the world that MKIO as powerful new presence in the industrial landscape.

Founded in 2002 by drummer Jon Siren and lead singer Natasha Cox, the band has already built a substantial fan base from their performances opening for such bands as KMFDM, Collide, Pigface, Free Dominguez, Genitorturers, and Beautiful Creatures. Their latest album, produced by Jim Wood and Sylvia Massy, promises to help grow that fan base even further. 

It's time to get your Friday night groove on. Grievous Angels are playing at Taix Lounge on Sunset Boulevard tonight, which means the good times will be flowing. 

The nine piece band incorporates a wide array of instruments, lead guitar, bass guitar, rhythm guitar, drums, mandolin, violin, saxophone, pedal steel and percussion, forming what they describe as LA's funkiest folk band or its folkiest funk band. Whichever way you lean the end result is sound that could be described as a more relaxed Dave Mathews Band. The bottom line, this is a very talented band that knows how to entertain a crowd. Check them out.

Mathew Winters latest album Under Your Skin Like Splinters melds the indie rock/emo sounds of Bright Eyes with more traditional roots rock troubadours to create a sound that is both raw and gut wrenchingly heartfelt. Formed by former Tsunami Bomb members Jay Northington and Gabriel Lindeman, Nothington combines the punk attitude of Social Distortion with Southern Rock to create a down to earth, raw nerve sound that instantly captures and holds your attention. Creating epic rock songs that recall such post punk pioneers as Killing Joke and The Cult, Jupiter Crash is a musical force to be reckoned with. Delving head first into the darkly romantic and mysterious soundscapes created by the aforementioned post punk pioneers, Jupiter Crash is at once both reassuringly familiar and intoxicatingly edgy. Derek: I was singing at Schuss Mountain resort near Traverse City Michigan. I chipped my front tooth off on the microphone and shocked, I spit the piece into my hand mid-phrase. I finished the song, and the set.


e: If you’re life was a song, what song would it be?

Derek: "Bigger Than My Body" by John Mayer. I can't say that it's my favorite song, but it sums me up musically and lyrically. It has the right amount of funkiness, pop, drum/bass relationship. Lyrically, it uses some everyday words with exceptionally positive, hopeful metaphors. I'm an everyday guy with an
exceptional certainty of goodness, especially good that arises from adversity and discomfort.


e: Have you read any great books lately?

Derek: Yes. Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert.

e: Do you support any charities?

Derek: Telling on Trixie donated money from performances this year to AIDS Walk New York and the American Cancer Society. Personally, I also strongly support my former employer- Sanctuary for Families.


e: If you could create your own fantasy music festival, who would the top 6 headliners be?

Derek: Telling on Trixie, Sheryl Crow, Fleetwood Mac, Duran Duran (Brad is going to kill me for saying them), U2 , Madonna (again, I'm going to get killed). Note: my bandmates and I vary greatly on this
answer.

e: Do you think Gwen Stefani can really sing?

Derek: Yes, she can definitely sing. I love No Doubt's Tragic Kingdom, but can't stand her any of her solo songwriting.

e: When and why did you stop believing in Santa?

Derek: I reluctantly stopped believing in him when my mother asked me in the same breath what I wanted from her and what I wanted from him.

e: What’s the one food you won’t eat under any circumstance?

Derek: Human.

e: What’s your favorite restaurant and why?

Derek: Babbo because it's expensive and across the street from my house.

e: Is cheerleading a sport?

Derek: GOD yes. Have you seen those national competitions on TV? Also, three years ago I was in Orlando at my yearly visit to Disneyworld and the national cheerleading competitions were there. The cheerleaders were practicing and preparing all over Lake Buena Vista. It tripled the energy in that area. Just watching them rehearse made me want to join in immediately. I had some choreographic tips that I found were not entirely welcome, however.

Tonight Terence Blanchard kicks off the first set of a four night engagement at the famous Catalina Bar & Grill in Hollywood. The Grammy nominated artist's latest album A Tale of God's Will is an emotional tour de force that reflects upon life in New Orleans as the city and it's people struggle to recover from Hurricane Katrina.

The album's roots lie in the soundtrack that Blanchard recorded in 2006 for Spike Lee's HBO documentary When the Levees Broke. Blanchard, a New Orleans native, takes several of those earlier pieces and expands upon them to tell the tale of the city, the calm before the storm, the fear as it hit, the anger at the catastrophe it became, the sorrow for the tragic losses, and ultimately the hope of an eternal fighting spirit.

The central voice throughout the album is Blanchard's trumpet playing which covers the gamet of human emotion, one moment calmly grooving to everyday life, the next spitting out rage, from heart wrenching sorrow to determined hope. His band comprised of pianist Aaron Parks, saxophonist Brice Winston, bassist Derrick Hodge, and drummer Kendrick Scott are equally adept with the end result being a stunning musical testament to a city and it's people. Definitely check them out when they are in town, you won't be disappointed.

Amateur Radio Operator's songs create rich visual tapestries as they gradually traverse their course, similar to the shifting of the sun as it makes its languid journey from sunrise to sunset. Lead singer Mark Johnson's voice brings to mind After the Gold Rush era Neil Young, while the mix of Kevin Suggs's pedal steel guitar and the rhythm guitar playing of John Faryar invoke comparisons to early Cowboy Junkies.

If you like alternative country / folk rock then Amateur Radio Operator is well worth checking out. Catch them tonight at the Tractor Tavern in Seattle, Washington. They appear on the same bill as the equally impressive roots rockers Westerly who are headlining in celebration of the debut of their full length debut album Rodeo. 

It safe to say that Radars to the Sky has the musical chops to be a card carrying member of the hip Silverlake music scene that includes such bands as Silversun Pickups and Irish transplants La Rocca. Formed in early 2006 the band released their debut EP in December of last year to excellent reviews.

Radars to the Sky combines the traditional indie rock guitar centered stylings of bands such as Built to Spill, Modest Mouse, and Guided By Voices with some more traditional rock elements and then throws in a bit of alternative country introspection along the lines of Wilco for good measure. You can catch the band live tonight at Boardners in Hollywood performing as part of the Radio Free Silver Lake bill that includes The Hectors and Tigers Can Bite You.

Bedouin Soundclash is currently on tour in support of their latest album Street Gospels. Despite being based in Toronto, Canada the band has managed to seamlessly capture the vibe of the Caribbean Islands and infuse it into their musical undertakings.

The trio mixes reggae, ska, dub and rock in a way that recalls not only blue-eyed predecessors like the Police and UB40, but Jamaican icons Desmond Dekker, Bob Andy, Ken Lazarus, Lee “Scratch” Perry and Junior Murvin. You can catch the Bedouin Soundclash performing tonight at Wonder Ballroom in Portland, Oregon along with fellow Canadians Hot Hot Heat.

The Supersuckers are getting ready for another one of their infamous crowd stealing performances at San Diego's Street Scene September 22nd. As a warm they are taking over the Velvet Jones stage tonight in Santa Barbara.

Known for their hard charging, high energy brand of indie rock, the Supersuckers have built a loyal following since their debut back in 1988. Of late the band has also been dabbling in alternative country. The new songs bring an earthiness to the table that ads a little extra flavor to their shows. Old fans need not worry though. A guaranteed good time by all is still part of every Supersuckers show.

Dov:        Why yes, actually we have. We had a great show at Joe's Pub in NYC a couple of weeks ago. The songs just seemed to flow and the audience really responded well. We also enjoy playing at NYC's Rockwood Music Hall. It's such an intimate, cozy venue and the band is practically on top of the audience. It's THE best place to play your music to connect to the crowd.
 
e:            What's the most embarrassing thing that's ever happened to you on stage?
Dov:         I started coughing in the middle of a song and could not sing through it. It's something every singer learns to do- sing through anything. But this one time I just could not hold back and coughed at every high note in the song and i had to just made a joke out of it.

e:            What's the last huge outdoor music festival you attended?
Dov:         Woodstock 95? It was so sad to see that peace and love turned into destruction and anger.
 
e:            What inspired you to write the song First Time Again…
Dov:         I wanted to write a song through the eyes of an ex-girlfriend who i had broken up with and then gotten back together with. it's a difficult thing to step back into a situation like that and restore your faith in someone and fall in love for the first time again.
 
e:            What's the most personal song you've ever written and what was it based on?
Dov:         I wrote a song when I proposed to my wife. i know, cliche. I honestly did not plan on writing her a song for the occassion but it just came out a day or 2 before I was planning on proposing because i obvioulsy had so many emotions running through my mind and body. I would never play it for anyone other than her. some songs are meant to be personal and private.

The Riverboat Gamblers are winding down a long summer of touring that has taken them from coast to coast and back again. Formed in 1997 in Denton, Texas, the Riverboat Gamblers have been touring extensively ever since, earning a reputation for raucous live shows that never fail to please.

The Panic Division combines soaring guitars with a heavy dose of keyboards to create multi-layered sonic blasts. Born out the remnants of post-hardcore/emo unit Carbon 12 Theory, the band's sound touches on progressive rock while maintaining a pop sensibility.

The Panic Division are currently wrapping up a mini-tour promoting their second album Songs from the Glasshouse. They headline tonight at The Viaduct in Tacoma, Washington and will be heading south to California for a trio of dates later this month. 

The Red Hearts provide a refreshing break from the formulaic pop punk that seems to dominate today's modern rock scene. Formed by Lenny Pops, of Morlocks and Brian Jonestown Massacre fame, in 2004, the Red Hearts are a rock 'n' roll four piece from Los Angeles that sounds like a time warp to the 70's golden age of pop punk.

Listening to songs like "Pirate Radio" and "More and Faster" instantly brings to mind the brilliance of Elvis Costello and the Jam. If you close your eyes you would swear a three headed monster of Costello, Paul Weller, and Stiv Bators were trying to channel their way through lead singer Pops vocal chords. The rest of the band, Danny, Dan Collins, and Eric Tretbar, is equal to the challenge  providing raw energy and riffs that command your attention. The Red Hearts are currently in the midst of a national tour taking them through the Southern US. You can catch them tonight at Burt's Tiki Lounge in Albuquerque, New Mexico. 

Baxter House certainly does not settle for the ordinary when it comes to their music. Taking cues from art punk pioneers such as Bad Brains and X, the band explores many different sounds while maintaining a definitely punk attitude.  

To some garage rock may be a derisive term but those who share that attitude are clearly ignorant of the musical brilliance of famed garage rock bands The Stooges, New York Dolls and the numerous other bands of similar ilk. Rolling Blackouts embody all that is great about garage bands, passion, attitude, and loud guitars.

Rolling Blackouts headline tonight at Famima in Torrance, California and tomorrow at Club Sandwich in Los Angeles. One thing you can always count on with a great garage band is an even better live show so make sure to check them out.

One listen to old school style punk anthems like "Back to Higher Ground," "Bored Teenager," and "Song for Us" is all it takes to realize The Briggs are a band that remains true to their punk roots. Their music is an infectious concoction of rock, punk, oi!, folk and reggae that is just screaming to be heard by a wider audience.

The Briggs latest release Back to Higher Ground has received great reviews and is starting to get some major airplay on both online and terrestrial radio stations. They are in the midst of a nationwide tour that runs through October. You can experience The Briggs first hand tonight at Slim's in San Francisco along with tour mates Horrorpops.

The New York Post reports that Apple is in the process of building out their own ringtone service. The as yet unnamed service will be unveiled at Apple's September 5th media event where it is also expected that the new line of iPods will be debuted.

So far lack of ringtones has been a glaring omission on the hot iPhone product line. The service will allow users to buy ringtones through iTunes and convert existing song purchases into iPhone ringtones. Pricing details have yet to be revealed but songs from Universal Music Group will not be included in the service.

It appears that the tension between Universal and Apple continues to escalate. Universal previously announced that it's DRM free catalog will not be offered through iTunes. 

Beltaine's Fire musical style is unlike anything you've heard of before. Fusing traditional Irish and Scottish music with rock, folk, and rap elements, Beltaine's Fire has succeeded in creating a truly unique sound that is still instantly accessible. 

The group, consisting of Emcee Lynx (rap vocals, singing), Laura Noel (bass, backup vocals), Chris Darbyshire (drums), and John Dougal (Banjo), is rapidly gaining a loyal fan base in Northern California. They're performing tonight at Ireland's 32 in San Francisco and have a number of shows scheduled throughout NorCal in the month of September. 

Philpot was formed in 2000 by Kentz Ward, Josh Kennedy, and AJ Boone after the three friends attended an Oasis concert. The Oasis influence is clearly heard on "Fall" off their debut album Hate Writes Better Than Love. Josh Kennedy's empathy with the Gallagher brothers is also clearly seen in his recent interview with epiTUNES.

REM's influence can be heard as well in particular on "This Nation's Son" and "Waiting in the Rain." Overall Philpot has a strong heartland rock flavor but they clearly cannot be pigeonholed to one style. They are in the midst of a Midwest tour that will keep them on the road through October. They'll be playing at Fine Line Music Cafe in Minneapolis tonight and the Rave in Milwaukee August 30.

Tony B has been building a solid following throughout Southern California since his arrival in LA in 2003. His music combines elements of rock, jazz, folk and country to create a relaxed groove that serves as the perfect accompaniment to his introspective lyrics. 

Tony B released his debut solo album Let's Go in 2006 to excellent reviews earning substantial airplay on college radio stations across the country. You can catch him tonight performing at Jimmy's Acoustic Courtyard in Hollywood. 

Brooklyn's legendary Gypsy punk band, Gogol Bordello, was recently named one of the top 20 live bands performing today by Rolling Stone magazine. Anyone who has seen them live will not be surprised the band made the list. To say they are a unique experience would be to grossly understate the obvious.

The band mixes Russian Gypsy music with touches of reggae and punk to create a sound unlike anything you've heard before. Their latest release Super Taranta! received glowing reviews and landed the band a spot on the Letterman show. You can catch them live tongiht at the House of Blues - San Diego along with DJ Scratchy and August 28th at Henry Fonda Theatre in Hollywood.

Deep Pocket embodies all that is great about local music. The electric blues/rock band has no pretensions of fame and fortune just a pure love of music that rings through every note they play. 

Lead singer Danielle Gorre has fiery stage presence and powerful voice that commands your attention. Steve Shandobil on bass on John Bartnikowski on drums provide the rock solid foundation for the duel guitar attack of Steve Nelson and Ross Hooper. e:                Have you played any great live shows lately?
Zac:             Yes, played a fantastic show at Firewater, Dallas a few weeks back with Miser and Siren City.

e:                What’s the last huge outdoor music festival you attended?
Zac:             Coachella 2006.

e:                What inspired you to write the song The Man Tyler by Toadies.
Zac:             I liked the dark elements in the song but often thought to myself that there is more to this than what are in the lyrics.  I imagined myself in the shoes of a stalker, and someone without remorse for their actions and saw no wrong in partaking in obviously deviant behavior.
 

e:                 What’s the most personal song you’ve ever written and what was it based  
                    on?
Zac:              A song called "Somebody Else's Lover" was written back in 1999 by myself and a former band mate in 20 Mine.  It was about an older woman, whom had been deemed my first love.  We had some ups and downs due to our difference in age, and eventually split for a short time.  The song moves about the period in which we tried the whole "date other people" thing, which obviously caused the demise of the relationship all together.  Was a very rough time for me, and was glad to get my feelings out into a song.

e:                If you could create your own fantasy music festival, who would the top
6 headliners be?
Zac:             This is tough because I have so many favorites.  Off the top of my head, and based on whats in my car changer....Jeff Buckley, Smashing Pumpkins, Sunny Day Real Estate, Tea Party, Journey, Jimmy Eat World.

e:                If you were a superhero what famous musician would be your
arch-nemesis and why?
Zac:             I can't really single one person out.  I would have to say it would be all these new tweeny pop bands from Disney.  The Mickey Mouse club versions of rock and pop, with 12 year old kids being dressed up like their in their 20s, and the producers dubbing in real musicians to make the music appear authentic.  Money talks doesn't it....
 
e:                Do you support any charities?
Zac:             I try to give back to a few every year, but hardly stick with the same organizations.  I've done Big Brothers Big Sisters, United Way, MS150 to name a few. 

e:                When and why did you stop believing in Santa?
Zac:             I honestly don't remember ever really believing in Santa.  I think the whole concept was lost early in my life.  I was more excited about my parents staying up past when I went to bed, to put presents out for me to wake up to.  :)

e:                David Johansen or Iggy Pop?
Zac:             HOLY SMOKES THIS IS TOUGH!!  Ok... I like the Stooges, and I like New York Dolls.  Bleh, I can't decide.  They both come from great bands.  I think we can all give a nice punk rock punch in the face to Johansen for his stint as Buster Poindexter though.  The "Hot Hot Hot" song was the worst!

Darius Lux calls his music soulful, thoughtful, rockin' urban pop and that is an apt description of his musical style. Darius grew up bouncing between London and New York and that mix of cultures clearly influences how he approaches songwriting.

His music is a melting pot of styles, 70s soul, 80s Euro pop, and 90s hip-hop with strong roots in traditional singer/songwriter fundamentals. Contemporary influences include Maroon 5, John Mayer, and Spearhead but elements of Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, and even James Brown can also be heard in Lux's music. Darius is playing tonight at the Viper Room in Hollywood.

The All Time Highs play the type of rip snorting anything goes rock 'n roll that has PTA moms trembling in fear.  epiTUNES:  What inspired you to write the song I believe?

 Peter:    My wife, Layla, has had a number of injuries, something like six   
 knee and one hip surgery. She's been through so much. The song is a   
 statement to her letting her know that haven't, and never would, give   
 up on her.

 epiTUNES:  Have you read any great books lately? 

 Peter: I just finished the new Harry Potter book. I'm a big geek who's   
 not too proud to say I loved it. A fitting end to the story. The best   
 book I've read in a while is " The Road" by Cormick McCarthy. It's a   
 super dark, end of the world page turner. There's a father/son   
 relationship in it that goes beyond beautiful. How this book ended up   
 in Oprah's book club I'll never know. There's not a fried green   
 tomato in it.

 epiTUNES:  What is your favorite magazine and why?

 Peter:  Well, I love the Onion. I guess it's more of a newspaper though.

 epiTUNES: What was the first album you ever bought?

 Peter: I saved up hard earned child cash from my Pop Rocks import/export   
 business and bought an Elvis record. This was in the bloated, white   
 jump suit days, for Elvis, not me. I played it over and over next to   
 Rick Wakemans " Journey to the Center of the Earth ". I was seven or   
 eight at the time.

 epiTUNES:  Do you support any charities?

 Peter:  I give to public radio. My wife handles the dispersant of cash.   
 Sometimes I'll see a charity that I want to give to only to find out   
 that Layla has already made a donation. I also end up playing a ton   
 of benefits. I guess I try to do what I can.

 epiTUNES:  What is your favorite physical record store?

 Peter: I just happen to live in the city , Louisville, with the best   
 record store in the country, Ear-sceneXtacy . Without Ear-Xtacy   
 louisville wouldn't have the strong music sceane that we're known for.

 epiTUNES:  Robocop vs. Terminator… who would win?

 Peter: Well, Robocop did have a human head. I suppose that would be his   
 weakness. Terminator had a heart of gold. I suppose that might have   
 been his weakness. I'd put Kit the talking car up against them both.   
 His only weaknesses are David Hasselhoff and soaring gas prices.

 epiTUNES:  David Johansen or Iggy Pop? 

 Peter: Iggy Pop for me.      

 epiTUNES:  The Grateful Dead of Phish?

 Peter: Dude, I might be banished from being a former punk rocker, but I'm   
 here to tell you that the Dead wrote some pretty strong songs. Now if   
 you could only do something about those crappy burritos they served   
 in the parking lot.

 epiTUNES:  Do you read any online music magazines, if so, which ones?

 Peter: I read the Onion online. Oh, and Epitunes.
 

The Sprague Brothers roll into Hollywood tonight with their throwback rockabilly sound in tow. Heavily influenced by the likes of Buddy Holly, The Everly Brothers and Bobby Fuller, the Sprague Brothers sound is instantly recognizable while remaining distinctly their own.

A little national exposure is likely all that is needed to turn Veritas  into a major player in the modern rock scene. Characterized by their high energy and dramatic theatrical sense the band, Thaipoon on bass, Jaime Rose on keyboards, Jason Sensation on drums, and The Will on lead vocals and guitars, is rapidly gaining a reputation for putting on must see live shows. 

The bands natural charisma was clearly evident on their recent interview with epiTUNES. Musically the band mixes riff driven modern rock with elements of electronica and industrial rock to form a sound that makes you stand up and pay attention. S.A.T.O.R.I., short for Sounds and Tempo of Real Inspiration, have been rocking audiences throughout California and Oregon for the last six years. Currently based in San Diego the band was formed in 2001 in the notorious college party town Chico, California.

The foursome's melodic modern rock sound features some inspired guitar riffing and crowd capturing vocals. Fans of Thirty Seconds to Mars, Senses Fail, and Panic at the Disco will find much to like listening to S.A.T.O.R.I. Check them out for yourself tonight at Dream Street in San Diego.

Coming off their stint on this year's Warped Tour veteran ska-core band Buck O Nine kicks of a brand new headlining tour tonight at the  Knitting Factory - Los Angeles. Their latest release, Sustain, features 12 new songs ranging from super fast Ska-Punk stuff to some reggae influenced jams.

Buck O Nine has been entertaining fans for years with their high energy, bring the party live performances. If you're looking for a good time Buck O Nine is the perfect band for you.

Mixing elements of classic jazz chanteuses such as Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday with modern day hip hop, Amber Ojeda's songs bring to mind a hot steamy Tropical night. Songs such as "Don't Rush" and "Hear I Am" practically burst forth with an energy and sensuality that demand your attention.

Lizzy Williams takes a break from recording their new album for a show tonight at Jimmy's Acoustic Courtyard in LA. The singer/songwriter duo craft melodic tunes elegantly blending singer Liz Chaffe's vocals with guitarist David Williams acoustic stylings.

The pair is joined live by a revolving lineup of local musicians who add their own touches to the mix. Over the last few years the band has had a number of successful residencies, including last year's extended run at Pig 'N Whistle as well as their semi-regular engagement at the Rainbow Bar and Grill in Hollywood. Expect to see more performances by Lizzy Williams in the coming months as they prepare for the release of their latest album. 

The Darrin James Band recently released their debut album, Thrones of Gold, to stellar reviews. Singer/songwriter Darrin James's gravely voice easily transitions from Tom Waits style barnyard tales to Replacements style indie rock with various stops in between. 

The bands music covers a variety of musical territories that at times bring to mind Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, and Robbie Robertson in addition to the aforementioned Waits and Replacements. The band is celebrating the release of their new album with a performance tonight at the Bitter End in New York.
