Telling on Trixie Interview w/ Derek Nicoletto
September 28th, 2007
Telling On Trixie is an up and coming New York City rock band created from such a partnership of opposites- the introverted guitarist and the extroverted lead singer who bring out the best in one another to create something bigger than themselves. On their self-titled, debut album, you can hear the seamless result of two very different people joining together to create music with skill and passion – and it’s music that is already substantially impacting listeners. epiTUNES asked Derek Nicoletto a few very different questions..

PonyNo Interview
September 22nd, 2007
In our pretentious society, seldom will you find an artist grounded enough to credit a one-hit wonder as the inspiration for their foray into a musical career. For Jeff Hatch, the mind behind Ponyno, the possibility that his music could evoke the same happiness he felt from the catchy hook of the The Stampeders 1971 hit “Sweet City Womanâ€? was reason enough to pursue this artistic endeavor. If his music could create the same joy for one listener then, in his mind, he is a success. Here's what else Jeff has to say...

With lyrical aspirations of Dylan and a healthy admiration for the innovative guitar work of Bert Jansch, the contribution from acoustic singer/songwriter Marco Mahler is immense. Radars to the Sky Podcast Interview
August 25th, 2007
The Los Angeles based indie rockers, Radars to the Sky, formed in early 2006, released their debut e.p. in December 2006 and have been playing the LA club circuit to rave reviews. In such a short time span, the band has played many of LA's premiere clubs such as the Troubadour, Spaceland, and The Fold, as well as shows for Radio Free Silverlake and a live recording on KXLU.
Combining the traditional indie rock guiar-centered, multiple-part stylings of Built to Spill, early Modest Mouse, and Pavement with some more straightforward tunes in the vein of The Pixies and Death Cab for Cutie, with a hint of introspection a la M. Ward and Wilco, the band's style hearkens back to what indie rock was meant to be, while keeping their sound firmly in the future.
Epitunes sat down with guitarist/lead vocalist Drew Spitzer to find out some of secrets of their success so far.
1000 Miles From Home Interview
August 24th, 2007
With an alternate identity rivaling Clark Kent’s Superman, the Dallas based rock band, 1000 Miles From Home, transforms from erudite engineers to a force of emotionally charged rockers. They fit the stereotypical geek concept - from competitive video gaming to wrestling with the paradoxes of a computer science revolution - they’re deeply submerged in the abstruse world of the inner-workings of technology. Channeling the harmonious flow of Jeff Buckley and cherishing the versatility of the Queens of the Stone Age, the band’s mesh of rock and punk influences elevates the music far beyond many of their contemporaries.

Charlotte Kendrick Interview
August 24th, 2007
Charlotte Kendrick’s music is tenderly performed Americana folk rock in the vein of Kaplansky, Williams or McLachlan. Her understated voice is in the tradition of folk singers to whom the song matters most, while her lyrics are haunting, triumphant and sobering at the same time.
