Do I have to become a member to use the epiTUNES site?
No. epiTUNES is free to use. Anyone can search for bands, venues, and listen to epiRADIO and epiCASTS. It is also free to sign up as an epiTUNES member. As a member you can setup your own members page, interact with other members, write reviews of bands and venues, have your own epiTUNES calendar and can create personalized epiCASTS.
How do I sign up?
Just go to
www.epiTUNES.com, click on Sign Up in the upper right corner. All you need is an email address, username and password.
Is there a cost to sign up?
No, it is free to sign up and participate in the epiTUNES community.
What can I do on epiTUNES?
Artists - Create an artist profile page and upload music, bio info, photo's, videos and information on upcoming shows an tours. Each artist has their own blogging capability, which allows you to send out bulletins about upcoming shows, new releases, etc. to all of your fans. Be a part of the epiTUNES weekly podcast of local shows and live podcast interviews. With the epiTUNES Automatic Gig Updater you can now automatically update all of your other websites show calendars everytime you update your epiTUNES page. We are constantly adding new features to the site to help you promote your music and performances, connect with more fans and see what epiTUNES members are attending each show. The epiTUNES dashboard will give you daily stats on how many visitors and fans are listening to your music and reading your blogs. Feel free to send suggestions using our

Members – Create your own personal profile and customize it to look anyway you want. epiTUNES will recommend local shows to see and bands you might like based on your preferences. Each member has their own blog capabilities to write about your favorite bands, new releases or anything else you want. Blog posts can be read and rated by other members too. Invite your friends to join you at shows you'll be attending and see what shows other members will be checking out. Share music on epiTUNES with your friends as well. Easily search for venues near you, see who is playing and listen to their music. Search for artists by the genre of music and find out where they're playing next. Receive recommendations of music and shows you might like. Create your own playlists to listen to whenever you want and save reminders of upcoming shows on your epiTUNES calendar.
Venues – Each venue has its own page. Take control of your venue page by creating a username and password, and use the epiTUNES calendar system to keep your page updated with upcoming shows. Now you have the tools to promote your venue to interested fans and allow others to discover what's happening there.
What is epiTUNES?
epiTUNES is a music discovery service and community that encompasses searchable directories, podcasts, custom playlists, online radio, and social networking. On epiTUNES you can search for artists playing near you or in any city, find information on the venue they're playing, and listing to their music on the epiTUNES player. Read what others post about the artist and venues. Listen to music from bands playing locally as well as your favorite stars. Search by genre of music or search for venue in another city you may be going to. You can create your own personalized playlists, listen to online radio stations, read concert reviews, download podcasts of the artists playing in town, and much much more. epiTUNES is your community for discovering and sharing music!
Getting Started - Artists
Can I add videos on my page?
Yes.
Can I advertise my music, tours, shows, or other stuff on EpiTUNES?
Yes. We first encourage bands to self-promote through use of the band pages and the epiTUNES tools. If you are interested in advertising, please send us email.
Can I remove my music or change my content after I upload it?
Yes, you can change or remove anything any time you'd like.
Can I still direct fans to my website?
You can enter your official website during the signup process. There is a field you will be prompted for. If you need to change it, just go to '
My Epitunes', click on '
edit profile'. There is a field where you can enter your band's URL. The URL will be displayed prominently on your public profile page.
Can I upload an entire album?
Yes. You can upload as many songs as you want.
Can I upload cover songs?
Most likely no, unless you have the appropriate permissions. You must have rights to the music that you put on the site. For more details please see the epiTUNES

Does EpiTUNES promote shows?
We are not music promoters. We created the epiTUNES site so that artists can use its free promotional platform and features to promote their upcoming shows and music to fans in each city. We are many new features in the coming months including the ability for artists to send ot their own customized newsletters to their fans and the ability for veneus to sell tickets to shows on the site.
How do I become a featured artist or be considered for a podcast interview?
You or your band needs to have an epiTUNES artist page to be considered for the featured artist spot or podcast interviews. Please email us your info and the epiTUNES staff will review your request.
How do I invite my fans/friends to check out my epiTUNES page or to shows?
To invite fans to your epiTUNES page, goto '
My Epitunes' and select '
friends' from the submenu. You can input email addresses or import your entire address book. To invite anyone to a show, first go to the venue you're playing at and select '
Event Details'. Look for the '
Invite Friends' link near the bottom. Again, you input email addresses or import them. Then you can customize the look of the email by adding photos, special text, etc.
How do I let users know about my shows?
Once you've setup an artist page, go to your '
My Epitunes' page and select '
shows' from the submenu. Enter the first few letters of the venue, then select the venue you want, then enter the date and time of your show. You can enter as many shows as you want and in any city that you are playing and also multiple dates for the same venue.

How do I upload my songs?
When you are in your '
My Epitunes' homepage select '
music' from the submenu. You will see links for uploading a new song, and managing songs.
What file formats do you accept?
mp3s. If you don't have mp3's or want us to convert them, please drop us a note using our
contact form.
What if a show is cancelled?
If a show you have input gets cancelled, go to your '
My Epitunes' page, then to the '
shows' submenu. Find the show and select the '
cancel' button to the right of it.
What if a venue I'm playing at is not on the venue list?
If the venue you are playing at is not in our database, you can still enter the name and address, which will automatically create a venue page for that particular venue and add it to the epiTUNES database. Users can then search for that venue, which will be listed like any other venue with your show listing on the page.
What is the Automatic Gig Updater?
No more having to update all of your web sites each time you add a new gig! When you enter your shows on your epiTUNES Event Calendar it will automatically update all your other web site calendars, including MySpace pages. Go to '
My Epitunes' and select '
shows' from the submenu. At the bottom of the page you'll see instructions and the code you need.
What is the epitunes email?
epiTUNES email is a way for members to send emails to other epiTUNES members that they may want to connect with. The email is located up on the right hand corner of the epitTUNES homepage. You can't miss it.
Getting Started - Members
Can I see what other epiTUNES members are attending to a show?
Yes. When you find a show that you want to check out, select the '
Event Detail' link on the right. This page will show you information on the venue and the artist as well as give you a map showing which epiTUNES members are attending that show. They will look like 'people push pins' on a map. If you scroll over one, you'll see the member username. You can then click on it and view their profile.
How can I invite others to come to EpiTUNES and view my epiTUNES page, photos, playlists, and blogs?
From your '
My EpiTUNES', page, click on the '
friends' link from the submenu. You can then either type in your contact's email address or grab a bunch from one of your email address books. If you want, you can add a custom message to your friends too.
How can I tell a friend about a song I like?
When you're listening to a song on the epiTUNES player, select the '
Share This Track with a Friend' link and input their email address and a message. They will automatically be sent a link with a picture of the artist and name of the track. They can link on this and listen to the song.
How do I add shows I want to see to my epiTUNES calendar?
Simple. When you find a show you want to check out, select the '
Event Detail' link on the right. Near the bottom right of the page you'll see a link that says '
add this event'. When you select this link, the show will automatically be added to your calendar. Now go to '
My Epitunes' and select '
My Calendar' from the submenu. You should see a calendar with the events you selected. Check your calendar periodically to remind you of shows you want to see.
How do I build a custom playlist?
First, you need to add songs to your music library. When you're listening to a song you like on the epiTUNES player, select the '
Add to My Music' link on the player. The song will automatically be added to your library. Then go to '
My Epitunes' and select '
music' from the submenu. You should now see the songs you added. Scroll down the page until you see the '
Create Playlist' link and select it. Now just name the playlist and drag and drop songs from your library into it. You can create as many playlists as you want and listen to them on the epiTUNES player anytime.
How do I get started?

How do I rate an artist?
While you are listening to a song, just run your mouse over the stars and click on how you want to rate the song according to your liking. You can also rate the artist the same way. You'll see two rows of stars. One for the song your listening to and the other for the artist.
How do I receive podcasts?
You can listen to the podcast in the epiTUNES player or you can get it automatically downloaded to your computer. You can play the podcast on your iPod or other MP3 player or on your computer using a media player like iTunes or Windows Media Player.
How do I start a blog?
Once logged in, go to your '
My Epitunes' page. Select '
view blog'. Click on "

Reviews' section. Click on the link and start writing your review.

Who can read my profile info?
Anyone browsing the epiTUNES site can click on your member name and read your profile so be careful what information you put on your profile.
Venues
As a music venue, how can I promote myself on epiTUNES?
With the epiTUNES calendar system, you can update your epiTUNES page with the artists that are playing there. Invites willl be sent to each band you input asking them to setup artist pages on the site, which will then link up their music and artist pages to your venue page. Let us know if you want to start using the epiTUNES calendar system and we will get you set up.
Can I advertise on EpiTUNES?
EpiTUNES will be accepting advertising that we believe is of interest to our community. Please send us an
advertising inquiry.
Can I sell tickets to shows on my venue page?
Yes, we can now set you up with the ability to sell tickets to shows. Please send us an email and let us know if you're interested and we'll get you set up!
Labels, Booking Agents, and Others
If I am a label, booking agent, manager, or other entity, can I setup artist profiles for each artist?
Yes, as long as the artists are okay with it. You need to use a different username and password, but can use the same email address for each. You can also setup a profile for your label, booking agency or management company and list your artists on the page.
If I am a writer can I publish my writing on epiTUNES?
Yes. Once you setup a member page for yourself, you can add interviews, reviews and whatever else you want. Just select '
View Blog' from your page, then select '
add new post' . Eventually writers will be able to share in the advertising revenue from the '
Reviews' page.
Privacy and Legal Issues
What does epiTUNES do with the personal information I use to create an account?
This information does not leave the epiTUNES database. Today it is used to allow you to log in to the site against a password that you set up. We also use the zip code information to help fans and artists know where the venues are.
What is the epiTUNES policy on copyright infringement?
You must have rights to the music that you put on the site. For more details please see the epiTUNES
Terms of Service Agreement.
Technical Stuff
Can I change my band name, screen name or password once I set that up?
Yes. You can change these at anytime. Go to '
My Epitunes' and select '
profile' from the submenu. Just make the changes and click save.
Can I use any web browser for epiTUNES.com?
We use and support all web browsers (Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer, etc.). Safari seems to have some troubles since it has problems with sites that employ Javascript. You'll see a pop-up when you use Safari. We recommend that you use Firefox.
How do I delete an account?
At the moment, you cannot delete an account. However, if you do feel the need to delete an account, please
contact us with the account name you want to delete and why.
How do I report a problem or what appears to be a bug?
Please
contact us. We really appreciate any feedback to help us refine and improve our service.
I'm having trouble uploading my songs. What should I do?
First, try uploading a few times. Song files can be pretty large and home DSL lines upload speeds can be much slower than download speeds. If you are getting a format problem, we would like to know since we want to support upload of most popular formats. If you are still having trouble, just send a note to tech@epiTUNES.com with some details and information on how we can contact you.
