The Prima Nocte

Consisting of alumni and current Musician's Institute students, this Hollywood based band sets to burn a fire through the live rock scene. Regaling it's listeners with tales of forgotten times, war torn worlds, and long lost lovers- PRIMA NOCTE captivates it's audience with soaring synchronized grooves, pulse raising beats, and soul piercing vocal melodies. Some fans have been overheard saying that their songs have a Slight progressive feel (A Perfect Circle, The Police), and the vocals resemble a mix of Maynard and De la Roca (Tool, Rage). While some of their lighter tunes are in the ballad genre of Ben Harper and Jack Johnson.

Indeed, The Prima Nocte is a fusion of the current Mainstream and underground rock music scene.

WHAT IS 'THE PRIMA NOCTE' 

In the middle ages Prima Nocte was the cultural act where a lord was given the right to spend the first night of a newly wed couple with the bride. There is much dispute over the implications of this act, due to the fact it was commonly thought that the lord would sleep with the bride on this night- to breed out the bloodline of conquered peoples.

Through out history, many concepts, cultural acts, and propaganda terms have been embodied by the downtrodden and thrown back at the system which created them as a sign of rebellion and subversion. We are this subversion. We are the PRIMA NOCTE. Our music is the convergence of that which is sacred and that which was stolen. Within our music lies the stories of our pasts, present, and future- the power of our existence. We are the coming of the FIRST NIGHT...
