Radars to the SkyRadars to the Sky formed in early 2006, spent the summer and fall recording their debut e.p., which they released in December 2006. They had an e.p. release party in February (you can see some reviews below in the blog), and have shows coming up at Boardner's for Radio Free Silverlake's monthly "Let's Independent!" show, at The Cocaine with Death to Anders, and at The Troubadour with The Happy Hollow and The Airborne Toxic Event. Combining the traditional indie rock guiar-centered, multiple-part stylings of Built to Spill, early Modest Mouse, and Pavement with some more straightforward tunes in the vein of The Pixies and Death Cab for Cutie, with a hint of introspection a la M. Ward and Wilco, the band's style hearkens back to what indie rock was meant to be, while keeping their sound firmly in the future. www.myspace.com/radarstothesky |
